The Associate Director (Head of Research Strategy, Funding & Contracts) within Research & Impact Services (R&IS) will play a pivotal role in the delivery of the University’s research strategy. Working with the Director of Research & Impact Services the role holder will deliver high-quality research support to assist the University on securing and managing research funding to underpin its ambitious plans to grow research income.
The role will build productive relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure that the University’s capabilities can be matched most effectively with external funding opportunities.
The postholder will have direct line management responsibility for 34 research support specialists and will provide daily supervision on matters relating to research strategy, grant applications, costings & pricing, and contracts. The role holder will also be a member of the R&IS Senior Management team making an important contribution to the overall leadership of the department.
