Following the appointment of Sara Matthews to the post of Director of Dance, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is seeking to appoint a Dean of the Faculty of Dance. This new appointment will work closely with the Director of Dance and play a critical role in supporting Trinity Laban’s Dance provision at a time of significant change in both the higher education and arts sectors.
As a member of the senior management team within the Faculty of Dance, you will work in conjunction with the Head of Dance Programmes (undergraduate, diploma, postgraduate), and in collaboration with the Head of Research and the Head of Learning Enhancement, both of whom have cross-Faculty (Dance/Music) leadership responsibilities. You will also seek collaborative opportunities with the Faculty of Music, working in cooperation with the Assistant Director of Music, who is Head of Programmes in the Faculty of Music. Close alliance with other departments in the Faculty of Dance – in particular Dance Science and Learning and Participation (Dance) – will enable you to develop strategic opportunities for curricula initiatives, projects and knowledge exchange activities.
The Dean of Dance role presents an exciting opportunity to stimulate and contribute to the continuing development of Trinity Laban’s Dance programmes and the departments that support delivery of the programmes of study for which research-led and research-informed teaching are key drivers. The successful candidate will join a senior management team tasked with responsibility for ensuring that Trinity Laban remains at the forefront of dance education and training, committed to providing opportunities for the development of creative and resourceful artists and practitioners, and fostering an environment for cultivating the artistic leaders of the future.
