Purpose of the job: The Director, Marketing and Student Recruitment, leads the development and implementation of the University’s marketing and student recruitment strategy. The Director is responsible for developing and executing activities to achieve student recruitment targets, developing existing and future target markets and ensuring a smooth and effective integration with the University’s admissions process. Detailed Description The Director, Marketing and Student Recruitment, has two main areas of responsibility. The first main area of responsibility is for establishing and monitoring strategies, policies, procedures and implementation plans to ensure the highest possible quality of student intake for all the University’s programmes, including the pre-undergraduate Foundation Programme, the degree programmes and the Executive Education and CPD courses and programmes. The appointee will also be responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives to promote and expand these policies, procedures and implementation plans. Working closely with the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar and Director, Admissions and Student Administration, and other relevant Muscat University teams, the appointee will be accountable for developing and managing the marketing, and student recruitment processes to maximise both the quality and quantity of the applicant pool to the University and to build relationships with candidates to recruit the highest quality class from the applicant pool. The appointee will ensure that the recruitment processes for Muscat University effectively serve a selective and demanding multi-cultural applicant group ready to make a significant personal and financial commitment to a high-quality education. The appointee will also be closely involved with promoting Muscat University and its programmes locally, regionally and internationally through various marketing and recruitment initiatives and will work closely with the Admissions Department of the University ensuring a smooth and effective integration of the recruitment process with the overall student journey. The second main area of responsibility is to lead on marketing initiatives in general for Muscat University. This includes but is not limited to: developing the Muscat University brand and the overall marketing strategy; developing input on the University’s website and digital estate; and ensuring that such developments align with the University’s operational targets.
