The Marketing and Strategy department within the school currently has 26 full-time and 8 part-time members of staff and offers undergraduate (B.Sc. Marketing) and postgraduate (M.Sc. in Strategy and International Business and MSc. in Strategic Marketing Management) programmes. There is a thriving research culture in the department, which has an established reputation for rigorous and relevant research which we are continuously looking to develop further. Researchers within the department regularly publish in high profile journals and are present at international conferences such as the one organised annually by the Academy of Management. We have a particular interest in the strategy as practice (SAP) research area which we are looking to develop further. We provide excellent research support including support for participating in international conferences, supervision of PhDs via Dean’s or ESRC scholarships, networking opportunities with businesses and professions, funded opportunities to host prominent visiting scholars, seed corn funding for research projects and excellent support for research grant applications.
We are looking for an inspirational and motivated thought leader to contribute to the group’s research, teaching and enterprise activities. You should demonstrate a passion for your subject and be able to communicate that passion effectively to both academic and wider communities. We are keen to discuss new ideas in order to develop our existing research profile and complement our teaching provision. You must be able to demonstrate world-leading, impactful research output and have a highly cited publication record in leading strategy and related journals. You must have significant experience in leading externally funded research projects, mentoring junior faculty and doctoral/postdoctoral research supervision. You must have a good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline; a PhD in a relevant field and a Postgraduate Certificate of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education/Fellowship of the HEA or equivalent.
