The University of Warwick are looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager on a 9 – 12 month contract to support the University’s Procurement and Insurance function.
You will support the University’s Procurement and Insurance function in the provision of an efficient and responsive service to departments, University Committees and outside funding bodies in relation to project and commodity based procurement. You will ensure that the full benefits of contracts and agreements are realised and explore new opportunities for cost savings and efficiency in order to achieve savings targets, at the same time ensuring that the University’s legal obligations and funding conditions are met.
You will possess or be working towards a professional qualification in Purchasing & Supply i.e. MCIPS and have experience in purchasing and supply with knowledge of sourcing goods and services, tendering procedures and be able to demonstrate good experience of managing supplier relationships.
You will have experience of supervising staff, good interpersonal skills, and an appreciation of a commercial environment, knowledge of commercial law and European Union directives and legislation. Experience within the Pubic Sector would be an advantage.
Salary for this role is from £29,301 – £38,183k per annum (Plus an extra £2k for full CIPS Qualification) with 34 days annual leave and an 18% USS pension contribution.
