About the role:
The Research and Innovation Development Office provides a focal point to support a significant planned increase in our research capacity, impact and effectiveness, leading to impact, innovation, knowledge exchange and external income. This role will support the Faculty of Science & Technology.
As the Research and Innovation Funding Manager, you’ll work closely with academic colleagues, faculty management and other members of the Research and Innovation Funding Development Team to support and drive an increase in the research and innovation capacity in the Faculty, and more broadly across our University. You’ll be required to build relationships with external stakeholders such as, for example, funders of relevance to the University.
With a degree or relevant professional qualification, you’ll have a robust understanding of the funding landscape and the process for identifying and applying for research and innovation funding. You’ll need significant experience of processing and costing research and innovation funding proposals using full Economic Costing from within a Higher Education Institution and/or from a funder perspective. The role requires well developed knowledge and experience of using a variety of software packages for bid submission and data analysis is essential.
The role can be primarily based in either Chelmsford or Cambridge, but there is a requirement to travel to other locations.
