The University of Warwick have an opportunity to appoint a Chief Finance Officer for the Estates department.

In this exciting senior role, you will be able to shape the financial strategy for Estates and Warwick Accommodation to ensure strategic aims are met through the provision of financial expertise to the senior leadership team and leadership of the local finance team. The budget responsibilities are to manage both the £650m 5 year capital plan and annual revenue expenditure of £86m.
The role will have overall responsibility for ensuring effective project investment appraisal, financial planning and implementation; efficient financial operations; the integrity of financial process, procedures and systems; and sound financial controls.
Managing through the University Governance routes plays a critical part of the role which includes managing risk registers, internal controls, and the overall integrity and implementation of the University’s financial plans.
This role reports to the Director of Estates with a strong dotted line to the Group Finance Director.
You will have real estate/property financial experience, to support the University in delivering on strategic goals.
You will hold a recognised accountancy qualification (CCAB) alongside a good honours degree.
You will have demonstrable experience of financial management and business understanding in a commercial or education environment, including project costing and business case evaluation.
You will have proven experience of development of policy and procedure in a complex environment.
You will have excellent knowledge of management and financial accounting, and relevant management information systems and software packages, ideally SAP.
Underpinning all of this you will have the ability to engage senior stakeholders both internally and externally, alongside leading and driving an estates team forward.
