Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) is the largest academic department at the University of Warwick, with a total annual income of £115m. The department has over 800 people working across ten dedicated research and education centres on the Warwick campus, plus collaborative centres in seven countries. WMG is now looking to appoint a key figure within its structure, the Director of Business Development. The Director of Business Development will lead WMG’s business development activities. Initially, they will develop and implement a business development strategy and tactical plans, providing leadership to the Business Development (BD) team and contribute strategic insight into WMG’s overall business development strategy.
The successful candidate will bring a demonstrable track record of successful commercial management at a senior level including framing of business development strategy, organisational change, achievement of challenging revenue targets, budget and staff management accountability.
The new Director will bring significant experience within the area of design and development of programmes/solutions for large corporate clients and will possess highly developed client management skills and understanding of delivering client satisfaction. The new Director will have the ability to engage with Marcomms to deliver high impact campaigns, experience of creating new business models, offerings and relationships as well as the capability to set vision and build, support and manage teams.
