The Role
Working with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, this role will deliver a high-quality support service to assist the University in securing and managing research funding to underpin its ambitious plans to grow research income.
The role will build productive relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure that the University’s capabilities can be matched most effectively with external funding opportunities whilst managing intellectual property, achieving success in technology and knowledge exchange, and demonstrating impact internally, nationally and globally.
By providing strategic direction and leadership, the role will enable a holistic research support service that is aligned with organisational requirements and provide a platform for the evolution of the University in terms of both exceptional research advancement and support for innovation.
About You
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a postgraduate qualification in a relevant area (highly desirable).
Your previous experience will include significant senior leadership experience within the higher education sector or the research sector including leadership of professionals and management of significant resources. You will also have experience of major change programmes, experience of managing a service delivery operation and demonstrable knowledge of REF and KEF, having been involved in submissions.
With a thorough understanding and knowledge of national and international research developments and their impact on Higher Education and the University’s business, you will have strong strategic skills and be a creative problem solver.
