About the Job
The Information Digital Group (IDG) at the University of Warwick are currently recruiting for a Head of Digital Innovation. Your role will be to pioneer the exploration and application of cutting-edge digital solutions at the University of Warwick. By cultivating an ecosystem of vendor partnerships and internal collaborations, this role will promote a dynamic environment to swiftly trial innovative ideas and technologies.
You will use numerous approaches, including innovation campaigns, workshops, hackathons, challenges, contests, and everything in between, including multi-modal ideation (sourcing ideas using multiple activities operating with different objectives, target audiences, and cadences). Embracing a “learn & improve fast” approach, you will propel the university’s digital frontier, ensuring that innovations align with strategic objectives and deliver genuine value. Your mandate will encompass exploring emerging technologies, conducting feasibility assessments, and collaborating with Enterprise Architects to prioritise initiatives that drive value and differentiation.
Drawing upon your expertise, you will foster a culture of creativity and experimentation, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and the exploration of novel ideas. Through your leadership, you will oversee the development of prototypes, pilots, and proofs of concept to validate the potential impact of innovative solutions. Collaborating with internal and external partners, you will spearhead the creation of strategic partnerships, while ensuring that the university remains compliant with data protection and security regulations.
Your role will extend to establishing an effective vendor ecosystem to support rapid innovation. Furthermore, you will be responsible for communicating the value of digital innovation to internal and external stakeholders, fostering engagement and support for transformative initiatives.
What we are looking for
Educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience, you will have significant experience in a digital leadership position with a proven track record of crafting and executing digital innovation strategies in dynamic environments. You will have strong relationship management experience with technology vendors and expertise in overseeing a diverse portfolio of digital projects. As well as strong technical capabilities, you will have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to inspire, mentor and guide teams.
