About the job and the department
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Head of Science Park Commercial Activities will lead effective day to day commercial property management and business support as part of the Senior Management Team of the University of Warwick Science Park (and associated properties). The Head of Science Park Commercial Activities will assist the COO to deliver a commercial property agency service to University of Warwick, and oversee business support.
Since 1982, the University of Warwick Science Park has provided an attractive, well-equipped platform for knowledge and technology based businesses to grow, providing office and workshop space across four sites in Coventry, Warwickshire and other parts of the West Midlands. Its properties include a wide variety of unit sizes that are suitable for all stages of business. The Science Park is a supportive environment with access to research and resources from the University of Warwick and an experienced in-house business support team, including help raising money, launching products and services, improving marketing communications, mentoring for growth and start up support.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
Holding a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, as well as a management qualification, the successful candidate will bring extensive relevant previous’ experience of working in property management and good working knowledge of commercial contracts, leases, and licences. They will be a results-oriented individual, with the ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and the aptitude to drive a creative innovative approach, pre-empting and solve operational challenges.
Experience of business development or similar commercially focussed roles is required, balanced with the skills set to support tenants and lead colleagues in the Science Park.
Previous experience of working in Higher Education, business incubation, or Science Park environment is desirable, combined with a good awareness of construction and building maintenance.
