Salary; £41,153 to £45,872 per annum (with additional performance related pay up to £57,340 per annum)

The Centre for Defence Acquisition (CfDA), part of Cranfield Defence and Security located within the UK Defence Academy at Shrivenham, is responsible for a range of defence-related education programmes and courses at post-graduate level. CfDA is constantly developing new areas of research and business related to the planning, specification, procurement and support through-life of capability and associated equipment assets and services across defence and the wider public sector.
As the cost and complexity of delivering defence capability increases, more and more countries are seeking a through-life approach to the procurement and support of defence equipment and systems. In order to respond to these opportunities within the UK and overseas we are seeking a Lecturer to undertake research and teaching in the field of Capability Management, focusing on the defence sector. You will contribute to our flagship Defence Acquisition Management MSc and other MSc programmes, and to a range of executive development courses and consultancy services. You will also engage in leading-edge research and identify, develop, and deliver new business.
You must hold a PhD (or nearing completion) and have practitioner and/or academic experience in capability management and the associated planning and delivery processes. A background within the defence sector is not essential, but the enthusiasm to apply your knowledge to the unique challenges and complexity of the defence environment is. A willingness to pursue an academic career is an essential requirement for this post. You will be a clear and creative thinker, an effective communicator and have the confidence to engage at the highest levels within industry and the government. A track record of publishing is essential.
The willingness and ability to travel and work overseas and other locations in the UK is essential.
